recording with scooter

so its been a long while since i've posted. though, considering that there have, at times, been years in between my posts, this is largely un-catastrophic.

2 weeks ago scooter asked dave and i to help him record a song he had written. for those of you who don't know, scooter, dave and i used to play in a pop punk band called abbott and west. the band broke up in fall of '07 for various reasons. but since then, we have still all been pretty active in writing and now recording some music.

so we packed up all our stuff from the ole practice pad and helped scooter lay down a pretty sweet track titled 'you got me'. we did most of the recording on saturday, august 30th. here are some pics from that session with ben powell, producer/engineer extraordinaire. i'll put the song up as soon as i'm allowed.

getting ready to lay down bass tracks:

tuning up:

the showdown (where're my mics man? i don't have your mics, i swear!):

friends out of obligation:

dave attempting to use futuristic technology:

ben trying to look busy (yeah, guys, you need to tighten up and remember to plug in the fade infiltrator to the megahertz simulator.... yawn.... [gchat noise].. uh woah, hey! ok lets take it from the top):

hey!

in case you're wondering, this is why i like these glasses so much:

like i said. as soon as scooter creates the myspace page for his new project, i'll link to it. the song sounds good.
