long day

today was a long day. woke up early. got my continental breakfast (which, i'm loving because its free, but lets see how many bagels and slices of cantaloupe i can eat before i go insane and order room service (which, as a side note, is not all that costly at this hotel)). worked. had a great burger for lunch. worked. came up to my room and got frustrated with the ridiculously, teeth grindingly slow internet at this hotel. went to dinner (i'm missing some home cooked meals... although i didn't really make or get any before i came on this trip so i don't know what i'm talking about). played poker with some co-workers. didn't know how to play. lost. but learned. some. came back. crashed on my bed. starting writing this.

needless to say, i'm pretty tired. i wish i could be a little more vivid and descriptive with my recap today, but i'm not feeling very creative tonight. my brain had to work extra hard between work and poker today. time to chill out! i've got some movies with me like there will be blood and the other boleyn girl that i'm going to watch while i'm here. the other boleyn girl started out as a joke between dave and i, because i was mentioning to him one day how i thought the movie announcer sounded like he thought the title was cooler than it really was by the way he was saying it. you know what i mean? you'll see a movie preview, that might look alright, maybe even interesting, intriguing, or just different than a lot of other movie previews you've seen, and then the producers think they came up with the most revolutionary/artsy/emo title you've ever heard of; so they tell the guy doing the preview to just blow everyone's mind by delivering it all suspensefully, saying each word real slow and intense: "the other, boleyn girrrrl." well, i think that's what happened, and i've always thought the title was dumb. so we were going to watch it as a joke, but, its got scarlett johansson in it and i actually want to watch it now.

trying to think of what else? oh yeah, weather's still bad. i wake up to a blue/grey haze over the water. the sun blasted through a little today, but its still muggy. i'm reminded of those "a bad day in Florida beats a good day almost anywhere else" commercials, where 1 cloud covers up the sun for 30 seconds and the two women complain. yeah, its not like that. its more like you'll find the two women inside at the bar most of the day and maybe by the pool for 24 minutes later this afternoon. i'll let you know if that changes.

no pictures for you, sorry. today was pretty uneventful. hopefully more tomorrow!

  1. You're life is a heck of a lot more exciting than "yours truly" right now... Ultimate frisbee and mini golf were my peak events lately.....

We're going down to Tampa FL to see my mom's parents in Clearwater...That would have been awesome if we overlapped each other...
