an epiphany of mutant proportions!

oh my gosh! i just figured out something out that has been in the back of my head for so many years about the voice of Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (tv animated series).

that's right... Shredder, aka Aroko Saki, the Japanese ju jitsu master, was voiced by james avery, the man who plays uncle phil, a large african-american man on the fresh prince of bel-air. maybe that is why our generation is so culturally illiterate. what were the writers thinking? "eh, they're kids, they don't know what a japanese guy sounds like."
