there are many slogans you could come up with to support your decision to stop drinking soda. like "no-da," which correlates nicely with "no-duh," but is actually rather stupid, as not drinking soda doesn't really warrant a "no-duh," since some people can completely enjoy soda responsibly, without someone having to accuse them of partaking in the consumption of a beverage that is, to them, a no-brainer to avoid.
regardless, if you haven't quite figured it out just yet (said like matt from relient k in this week the trend at 2:22), i'm currently experiencing caffeine withdrawl. i don't drink coffee, and the thought of waking up and eating a hershey's chocolate bar to get my morning caffeine is uninspiring.
in the past, i have been known to wake up and crack open a mountain dew or coke. this unhealthy consumption of carbonation may or may not have been a contributing factor to my soda fast. but more than that, i just realized it was that time to save a little money, get a little healthier, and stop relying so much on that sweet, carbonated goodness to compliment my meals.
i've done it before, and am most often successful. my relationship with soda is one of love and hate, but really just love. i drink it all the time, when i want to; but when i decide to stop drinking it, i just do.
don't get me wrong - there are still instances where i'm enjoying a cheeseburger or football game and would love nothing more than to pour a tall, cold coca cola classic for myself and close friends. but on the whole, i can put it on the shelf, and call enough enough.
what will i do with my time? well there are many things i have thought to do in light of this developing soda vacuum. i will drink more water for one. scholars maintain that water is good for you, and that the original translation was lost hundreds of years ago. regardless, i flat out love the stuff. you can't keep me away from it!
in addition to drinking more water, i think i'll be playing more guitar, working out, writing a book, and starting a corporation.
yeah, it's happening. maybe you should stop drinking soda too?
